Uday Saharan was born on September 8, 2004 in the Shri Ganaganagar district of Rajasthan. His father, Sanjeev Saharan, is an Ayurvedic doctor who played cricket professionally and inspired Uday to pursue the sport from a young age.

Driven by his dream of becoming a cricketer, Uday moved from Rajasthan to Punjab at the age of 14. Representing Punjab, he played for the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-19 teams. Recently, at age 18, Saharan was named captain of the Indian Under-19 team for the 2023-24 Asia Cup. As captain of India B in the Challengers Trophy, he impressed with 297 runs in just five matches.

Originally from Rajasthan, Uday Saharan is an aspiring young cricketer appointed as captain of the Indian team for the 2024 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. The talented top-order batter and part-time spin bowler moved to a new state at age 14 but continued representing Rajasthan at the junior level. Now Saharan will aim to lead India’s junior squad to a sixth U19 World Cup title. He is coming off a strong performance in the semi-finals, where his crucial 81 runs against the host nation earned him Player of the Match honors.
