In 2015, Neha Thakur enrolled at the National Sailing School in Bhopal, under the tutelage of her coach, Narendra Singh Rajput. Since then, she has participated in numerous domestic and international sailing championships, showcasing her exceptional skills and talent. In March 2022, Neha made her international debut at the Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi, where she secured a bronze medal in sailing, thereby earning her a spot in the Asian Games (2022) held in Hangzhou.
In 2023, Neha Thakur represented India at the 19th Asian Games (2022) held in Hangzhou, China, where she demonstrated her prowess in the Girl’s Dinghy ILCA 4 event in sailing. With a net score of 27 points from her 11 races, she clinched a well-deserved silver medal. In the 11th race, Neha competed singlehandedly in a 4.23 m long and 65 kg dinghy, finishing fourth. Her remarkable performance at the Asian Games is a testament to her dedication and hard work in the sport of sailing.
