Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan is an Indian social activist. He is a co-founder and president of the Bhim army. Bhim Army was founded by Azad, Satish Kumar, and Vinay Ratan Singh.

Career
He is a lawyer from Chhutmalpur a small village near Shabbhirpur, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In 2011 he planned to go abroad for higher studies. His father was in hospital when he read the news regarding Dalits atrocities afterward he decided to become a Dalit activist. In 2015 he formed an army name Bhim Army which consists of more than 50 k peoples and support Dalits.
When he heard the news about discrimination against Dalit children by upper caste people they even not allow to sit near upper caste children at school time. The upper Rajputs did not allow them to go to school and consider them untouchable.
In 2016, Azad and his army give headlines to write on board ‘The Great Chhamar‘. The upper caste Thakur had denied the Idea.
In 2017, Thakur burnt some houses of Dalits in Shabbhirpur village of Saharanpur. After the Dalit complaint against Thakur to use loud sounds on maharana pratap jayanti but police not taking any action. Afterward, Dalit burnt the police post in Saharanpur.
On 21 May 2017, Dalits start a rally in Delhi without permission with more than 5000 members of the Bhim Army.
Azad on 17 February 2021, was on the list of 100 leaders In ‘Time Magazine’ “Emerging Leaders Who are Shaping the Future”.
On 28 June 2023, he was shot by unidentified people in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
