Career
Civil Service
Arjun Ram Meghwal was a member of the state civil service in the Rajasthan Administrative Service. He entered the service in 1980. In 1982, he qualified for the RAS Exams and got elected to the Rajasthan Udhyog Seva.
In 1999, he was promoted from state civil service to Indian Administrative Service. He then served as Churu District Collector. in the Rajasthan cadre & worked in many administrative posts like Deputy Secretary, Technical Education; Special Secretary.
He took voluntary retirement from the Indian Administrative Service in order to join politics.
Political Career
Arjun Ram Meghwal, after leaving the civil service, became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and made his political career. Fifteenth Lok Sabha elections 2009, contested and won the Lok Sabha member from Bikaner seat, then won the elections in 16 Lok Sabha and 17 Lok Sabha and became a minister in the center.
- First won the 15th Lok Sabha election from Bikaner with the symbol of Bharatiya Janata Party.
- Won the election in 16th Loksabha for the second time and became a minister in the Modi government.
- Won the election of the Lok Sabha member from Bikaner for the third time in the 17th Lok Sabha and is currently holding the post of Law Minister, Parliamentary Minister, etc.
