Career
Arjun Deshpande completed his schooling from DAV Public School. At the very young age he started working on his project Generic Aadhar. The aim of the project is to provide Medicine at very low cost which is affordable to all the people. He get support from his mother because His mother was employed at a global pharmaceutical company. He asked his mother why medicines are expensive in India. He learnt it that most generic medicines in India are promoted as branded medicines which raise its cost.
He found that most of generic and branded medicines have the same compositions. Medicines are promoted by marketing gimmicks and therefore, many people of India can’t even afford these medicines. Therefore he decide to make quality Medicines at reasonable Price. So he started Generic Aadhar.
He requested Ratan Tata to join his dream and invest in the firm in 2018. While most of pharmaceutical companies provide maximum savings of 10-15% on their drugs, Deshpande’s Generic Aadhaar offers up to 80% off WHO-GMP approved pharmaceuticals. His stated goal is to make India a “expensive medication mukt nation” by 2025.
